Wayne and I didn’t do ‘things’ in the right order – I guess that’s either modern day relationships for you or the fact that we weren’t 21 when when we met!
Having whisked me off to the Lakes for a long weekend, Wayne popped the question, two days before our first anniversary together. It’s not often I’m speechless, but speechless was an understatement! Wayne isn’t exactly the overly romantic type, but oh boy, had he pushed the boat out for this occasion. The most perfect private little love nest Wayne had booked, provided the most beautiful and romantic of proposals and complete with choosing a ring for me, it was, to put simply, perfect.
As any newly enaged couple, we set about planning our wedding for the following summer. And then changed our minds! Seeing as we were both cracking on and had decided we wanted to start a family, we popped our commitment to each other on hold and nine months, our little H bomb, Harry arrived – life is just complete with him.
Last summer, Harry sent me a Mother’s Day card and on behalf of Daddy, he asked me if i’d like to commit to Daddy, forever. Back to round two of planning and a traditional wedding was booked. Summer just gone presented a number of challenges and unfortunate events and so again we changed our minds and here we are now re-arranging for the third time – third time a charm right?!
Wayne’s delighted with our new plans; english tea party meets party time! So the wedding’s booked, I’ve chosen my dress and hen and stag party plans are firmly underway – just one more thing to sort then – honeymoon!
A number of friends have suggested different destinations; at first we were going to head to Vegas but like we always do (and ridiculously prone to!), we’ve changed our minds. Italy, the Caribbean, Sri Lanka and the Maldives have all been banded around but tonight I think I’ve found the destination. I’m so delirious, I could literally throw up (don’t worry I don’t have “issues”); it’s somewhere we’re both gonna love.
One problem though; I can’t share with you as Wayne’s at footy training and doesn’t know.
So for now it’s a surprise and I can’t wait to see Wayne’s face he sees where I’m suggesting – our very own piece of paradise; together xx
